It’s important to have open conversations with the potential executor or trustee about their willingness and ability to take on this role. Remember, being an executor or trustee can be a demanding task, both emotionally and administratively.
Have you encountered any challenges related to executor selection?
I remember one case where a client named their eldest child as executor without fully discussing it with them. The child later expressed feeling overwhelmed and unprepared for the responsibility. Thankfully, we were able to work together to find a solution that better suited everyone’s needs.
